Our agency strives to provide a safe environment for everyone who lives in or visits Chase County. Covering an area of roughly 778 square miles, the Sheriff's Office provides full service law enforcement to the entire area.
The Sheriff’s Office employs five full time law enforcement officer positions. Law Enforcement services are provided to all the cities in Chase County to include Cottonwood Falls, Strong City, Elmdale, Matfield Green and Cedar Point.
The Sheriff’s Office is located in the city of Cottonwood Falls sharing a building with the Detention Center. Chase County Sheriff’s Office has it’s own Dispatch and employs four full time and one part time positions. The Office is open twenty four hours a day, seven days a week.

Vehicle inspections are completed Sunday- Saturday 8am-8pm- FEE- $20 per vehicle
Vehicles that are not legal to drive to the Sheriff’s Office can be completed at the vehicles location by the Sheriff’s Officer.
Other services the Sheriff’s Office provides Out of State Civil Service $50, In State Civil Service $15, Fingerprints (2 cards) $20, Carry Concealed License $32.50, vehicle lock outs, residential lock outs, and motorists assists.
Registered Offender information and can be completed at the office and must be done in person unless other arrangements are made and approved by the Sheriff. Information will be taken at dispatch and entered into the system. The offender will submit to a photo, sign the completed registration and pay the $20 fee as required by law.
